An article on the state of research on kindness mentions the work of UBC psychology professor Kiley Hamlin. In one of her studies, Hamlin dramatized different puppet characters being helpful or mean. Infants stared at the kind puppet, indicating liking–and suggesting that humans come into this world predisposed to be kind.
