Handout, Tesla
A limited-edition Tesla-branded surfboard sold out all 200 units in less than a day, reports Autoblog, despite the boards’ US$1,500 price tag.
The price tag on the 6-foot-8-inch boards, built via a collaboration with Lost Surfboards, puts them near the top of the market for surfboards of that length, but Tesla fanboy fervor is running so high right now, it’s likely the company could’ve charged ten times as much.
The boards feature Tesla logos on both sides, are reinforced with carbon fibre, and have a bottom coated in two layers of four-ounce cloth. The fins shown are not included.
They went on sale on Tesla’s website this past weekend, but are already all spoken for. Owners can expect to see theirs delivered in 10 weeks—assuming there’s no unexpected production delays.
